Our research focus involves the molecular identification and subtyping of viral pathogens, understanding their biological properties, mode of action and evolution at the molecular level, and the development of antivirals to respond to their infection. These technological approaches allow for the characterisation of viruses into different subtypes, the development of specific treatments, and the advancement of ‘omics’ and informatics for use in clinical practice.
